After moderating (and afterward on co-moderating) the Omega Forum at WatchUseek for years, I resolved to jump in to gentle the Rolex Forum as well. The Omega Forum was a piece of cake, most of the time I just partook in threads and did some excavating up for people. After Jean-Michel and Jon joined me to temperate the forum, I did a step back and equitable watch all threads and posters and post at times. While on the Rolex Forum, it seems that I am more engaged with keeping it under control and friendly, then being comprised on the true content of messages. Discussions are heated within a few lines in a thread and namecalling and brand bashing is constantly the result. Closing the thread or even deleting it (while it gets actually wrong) is the solution maximum of the time.
Rolex is a brand that gives a lot of chat through collectors. Is it worth the money? How do they compare to Omega, IWC or Patek (yep, I have seen this approximation, I really did)? And the friendlyness-killer of them all, “Is this a fake?”. Ofcourse it is, because you paid only 300 USD for it on eBay. Then replica omega, except all the anguish of this question, there appear to be people who defend fakes like that (on a Rolex Forum!!!) at mentioning it is a nice watch with an ETA activity, and for only 300 USD.
I have to confess, it is very magnetic to begin manuscript down some words favor ‘moron’ or ‘idiot’, yet train what you sermonize.. keep it friendly.
This nightfall I flipped open my laptop and retarded the Rolex Forum to watch whether everything was still under control. My girlfriend inquired me what I was doing and I told her I was monitoring the Rolex Forum a bit more these days because some guys about slay eachother over fake watches. Her question was “That’s a course of spending your time” (not my time, to illuminate.. well.. in the end it namely also ofcourse). I suspect she is right. Forums on watches (alternatively pens cartier replicas, alternatively motorcars) shouldn’t be the area because fighting and bullying. Ofcourse, softwaredevelopers should come up with a plug in alternatively tool to automatically forbid consumers with answers on fakes…
Good object ashore the Rolex Forum this week was the load of quite impressive photos on Rolex watches. Good paper material!
